Bias amp 2 vs amplitube 44/1/2024 ![]() You can get them used pretty close to the cost of the IR-2. So I can rock out and enjoy myself and record great sounding guitars in a mix, you get that with Bias. I got the IR-200 because I needed to switch easily and quickly between multiple amp models and tones. I appreciate a good organic sound but in a post organic world I could care less if my tone is as organic as a Marshall JCM 800, Mesa Rect, ENGL, or Peavy. Most guitar players uses some type of boost(clean/ distorted) or some overdrive to improve their sound, along with Eq and compression.īias is really for tone nerds trying to push the envelope, I'm looking for a sound close to this but I want to make it mine, not replicate what been done before me. ill late to the party but Neural DSP is doing something very very good., Marshall amps have been the hardest to replicate cause they are raw amps, low gain, pick up and amplify your playing style, twang, strum, pick ups etc, just add a distortion pedal and you got the high gain stuff., Softube nailed the Plexiglas, 2203 and Jubilee. My live rig uses a Walrus ACS1, but I got the trial of helix native yesterday as I’ve been thinking about plunging into getting a helix for some higher gain sounds - but I wasn’t blown away by the amp. Ive noticed the same kind of added realism when modeling on a pc as opposed to iOS even though my gear is pretty good all around. To me, it just feels much more like a real amp. But I personally find myself still using Amplitube 4 for most of what I play blues, classic rock. Once i tried a Bogner Blue into the Torpedo cab, i could never go back to Amplitube, S gear, Guitar Rig, Bias, etc. Gets crazy good tones with great tweakability too, I think some of the others can sound a little overhyped. Bias does have superior metal tones - cant speak to TH3 and S-Gear. But they are significantly more expensive. Especially low gain area in the plugin is just filthy Amplitube 4 rack effects work really well, just don’t. Extremely unforgiving, but also blissfully real. It makes electric guitar acoustic and amplifies it. Like most guitar amps, the drive and distortion pedals help tighten up the sound. High end pre amp pedals like the Bogner and Kingsley units into outboard Cab sims like 2 notes Torpedo Cab are far superior to any ITB sims imho. Biased much (Image credit: Positive Grid) Take BIAS Amp 2 from Positive Grid, a software amplification designer which contains remarkably accurate models of a range of choice amps. As with so many plugin users, I can’t really explain the difference to real amps, but Neural seems to capture transients of playing. The Bias fx 2 give all the tools you need to shape a sound even further. The Bias amp plus the Celestion IR the pro comes with really enhance the tones you can achieve, with the addition of mic placements. I have both Bias amp 2 and Bias Fx 2 Pro edition, they both sound great when you understand the tone shaping system they are going for, and from my experience with it the UI is user friendly.
